Offered available to be purchased are the very much respected Allison CD-7 Minitowers. Amidst the CD line, the 7 is a story stander (27-1/2″H x 9-5/8″W x 9-5/8″D), so no stands are required. Allisons are intended to give a vast sound-field, so there’s no constrained “sweet spot”. These however have been altered and updated from the firsts.
A few months back I saw in issue in one speaker which was followed to its tweeter, which was working yet had fiercely uneven recurrence reaction. Since it’s difficult to recognize what the genuine nature of a “working” Allison tweeter discovered, say, on eBay, is, I worked with a nearby speaker planner to revamp my CD-7s with new tweeters and a present day hybrid.
The first tweeters were supplanted with SB Acoustics SB29RDC tweeters. What’s more, set up of the first, straightforward (curl and two capacitors) hybrid, an a great deal more advanced hybrid was composed . The parts to the hybrid alone cost over $50. The woofers are Allison firsts, and the encompasses are in great condition. The oiled walnut cupboards are additionally in great condition with a minor lacquer chip on one top front corner.
